Stradpoles are passive mobs that can be found in the small lava pools of Basalt Delta biomes.
Stradpoles can also be seen getting thrown by Straddlers as an attack although these variants quickly despawn after a few seconds.
Behavior[]
Stradpoles can only live in Water or Lava as they will flop around if on land although they can't suffocate on land.
Stradpoles can be collected with a Lava Bucket to obtain a Bucket of Stradpole. Stradpoles placed in a bucket do not despawn naturally. When the bucket is used on a block it places Lava along with the Stradpole swimming next to it.
Growing Up[]
Despite being the larvae of Straddlers, they cannot grow up naturally and will have to be fed Crimson Mosquito Larvae to grow up into a Straddler.

Animal Dictionary Entry |
---|
"Stradpoles are the immature larva of the Straddler. They can be found in the shallow lava pools of the Basalt Delta, and are launched by their parents at any possible threat. Using a Bucket of Lava, one can transport a Stradpole to and fro and ensure that it does not eventually disappear. Feeding a Stradpole some Crimson Mosquito Larva, their favorite prey, has a chance to grow the Stradpole into its hostile adult form. Stradpoles are equally at home in Water as they are in Lava, and make a strange yet exotic addition to any aquarium." |
