Skreechers are hostile mobs that can be found rarely in Deep Dark biomes.
Behavior[]
Skreechers are hostile mobs, "attacking" if they spot a player.
When they spot a player, they won't actively attack and will instead make a lot of loud monkey noises and clap loudly with their cymbal arms, which can summon a Warden.
Skreechers can only summon a Warden if they are in a Deep Dark biome, if they do it anywhere else then a Warden cannot appear.
Skreechers are capable of climbing ceilings, similar to the Dropbear, by extending their arms at extreme lengths to reach the ceiling.
Avoiding Skreechers[]
Since Wardens are extremely dangerous, it is very important to look out for Skreechers when traversing a Deep Dark biome or an Ancient City where these mobs can be found.
Due to Skreechers having extremely low health, it is very easy to kill one, but if you do just be aware of any nearby Sculk Sensors. Additionally, throwing a projectile at them will temporarily prevent them from making monkey noises along with sending the Skreecher plummeting to the ground, which may kill it from fall damage.

Trivia[]
- Even though these mobs summon Wardens, the Warden can still attack Skreechers regardless.
- This can actually be used to the player's advantage to distract a Warden. Which can give time for the player to get further away.
- Due to Wardens being dangerous, and Skreechers being added to wake up a Warden, despite being rare, there are quite a lot of people that dislike this mob, due to how annoying they can be when exploring a Deep Dark biome or an Ancient City.
- They are one of two mobs that can climb ceilings, the other being the Dropbear.
- The noise circles produced by a Skreecher, are rather circular, not blocky.

Animal Dictionary Entry |

"The Skreecher is a strange, hideously-mutated primate found clinging to the ceiling of the Deep Dark biome. Since its native biome is so dark, it can often only be distinguished by its gigantic, glowing eyes. Although considered a hostile monster, the Skreecher cannot fight in any typical sense. Instead, when detecting prey, it will begin to create an extremely loud racket, both by howling and clapping together its two large feet. Given a few seconds, such a loud noise in such a sound-sensitive biome is bound to awaken a Warden right beneath its target. Lucky for adventurers, the Skreecher has extremely limited health, and any projectile can temporarily disable it from calling for a Warden - along with sending it plummeting towards the ground. The most difficult part of facing these beasts is identifying them before they identify you. If slain, a Skreecher has a chance to drop its Soul. The Skreecher Soul can be used to craft a Sculk Boomer. When activated by a nearby Sculk Sensor, this block will emit a loud boom that can damage nearby mobs that are within 3 horizontal blocks of the boomer. It can be temporarily disabled with a Redstone signal, and the booms themselves have a slight cooldown, making the Sculk Boomer useful for traps." |
