Rattlesnakes are defensive mobs that can be found in Desert and Badlands biomes.
Behavior[]
Rattlesnakes are defensive and will only attack if closely approached.
If closely approached they will make an irritating rattling sound with their tail to warn the entity of their presence.
If this warning is ignored, they will attack by biting once at their target, inflicting Poison in the process.
If a baby Rattlesnake is threatened then they will instead chase their target and attempt to continue biting instead of only biting once.
Rattlesnakes are also prey for Roadrunners.
Rattlesnakes will attack Jerboas if they see them.
Breeding[]
Rattlesnakes can be bred with any form of Meat.
Feeding two Rattlesnakes some form of Meat causes them to enter love mode and eventually one of the Rattlesnakes will spawn a baby Rattlesnake.

"The Rattlesnake is a medium sized reptile found in Deserts and Badlands. Most of the time, the Rattlesnake is heard, not seen, since it produces a loud rattle warning sound when a potential predator is nearby. If one gets close enough to a Rattlesnake while it is rattling, the creature will become hostile and use its poisonous bite to defend itself. Rattlesnakes are the sworn enemy of Roadrunners, their most common predator. Rattlesnakes can be bred with any type of meat. If a Rattlesnake is slain, it has a chance to drop its Rattle. These Rattles can be brewed with Potions of Poison in order to create a foul, Poisonous Essence. Brewing this essence with a Cave Centipede Leg can result in the coveted Poison Resistance potion." |
