Platypuses are defensive mobs that spawn rarely in Rivers.
Behavior[]
Platypuses are defensive and will give any entity that attacks it the Poison effect.
Platypuses are semi-aquatic and can live in Water as well as on land.
Platypuses can be collected with a Water Bucket to obtain a Bucket of Platypus. Platypuses placed in a bucket do not despawn naturally. When the bucket is used on a block it places Water along with the Platypus swimming next to it.
Platypus Digging[]
If a Platypus is fed Redstone, it will begin to rapidly rotate its head whilst releasing electric particles.
The Platypus will then begin searching for nearby Clay blocks. Once it has found one, the Platypus will start digging and will dig out several Clay Balls and Maggots.
If a Block of Redstone is used then the amount of dug up items will increase. On very rare occasions, a Fedora can be obtained after feeding a Platypus a Block of Redstone.
Breeding[]
Platypuses can be bred by feeding them Lobster Tails.
Feeding two Platypuses some Lobster Tails causes them to enter love mode and eventually one of the Platypuses will spawn Platypus Eggs.
Trivia[]
- Naming a Platypus "Perry" or "Perry The Platypus" will give it a skin based off of the character of the same name in the TV series, Phineas and Ferb.
- It is possible to use a Fedora on a Platypus to make the Platypus wear it. This features primary purpose is to make it represent Perry The Platypus better.

Animal Dictionary Entry |

"The Platypus is a creature that looks like a combination of several other animals, but is completely unique in its own right. It can be encountered rarely in River biomes in The Overworld. This strange mammal has poisonous spines on its feet, that it can use to inflict Poison effects onto any attacker. The Platypus's weak sense of smell, hearing and eyesight have lead it to rely on electricity on hunt and navigate. Due to this, the Platypus is naturally attracted to Redstone when held. If fed Redstone, the Platypus will recharge its electric sensitivity, and will look for some Maggots in nearby Clay Blocks. When looking for food, the Platypus will dig up several Clay Balls and Maggots, which can then be collected. If fed an entire Redstone Block, the amount of items dug up will be greatly increased. Like other small aquatic creatures, the Platypus can be transported in a Bucket of Water. It can be bred with Lobster Tails, its favorite food." |
