Kangaroos are neutral mobs that can be found in Badlands and Savanna biomes.
Behavior[]
Kangaroos will fight back if the player attacks one and will attack by using their powerful legs to kick their target which can deal a lot of damage.
Kangaroos will only move by hopping.
Baby Kangaroos can sometimes be seen inside an adult Kangaroos pouch.
Taming[]
Kangaroos can be tamed by feeding them Carrots.
Tamed Kangaroos can be set to three modes:
- Follow: Makes the Kangaroo follow its owner.
- Stay: Makes the Kangaroo stay in place.
- Wander: Makes the Kangaroo walk around aimlessly.
If it's owner is attacked or if it's owner attacks something then the Kangaroo will aid its owner in a fight. Kangaroos are good fighters and are very handy in combat.
Pouch Storage[]
A tamed Kangaroos owner can shift right-click to open up the Kangaroos pouch which is used as a storage unit.
It is still possible to open the pouch if its occupied by a baby.
If a melee weapon, helmet or chestplate is placed inside the pouch then the Kangaroo will equip them, it is also capable of using these in combat.
Plant based food can also be placed in the pouch and the Kangaroo will eat it to regain its health but only if its injured.
Breeding[]
Kangaroos can be bred with Grass or Dead Bushes.
Feeding two Kangaroos some Grass or Dead Bushes causes them to enter love mode and eventually one of the Kangaroos will spawn a baby Kangaroo.

"Kangaroos are large, neutral marsupials native to Savannas and Badlands. These creatures have unique locomotion: They move only by hopping. They can sometimes be seen with a joey in their pouch. Despite their prehistoric appearance, Kangaroos are strict herbivores that love to feed on Grass. They are not pushovers, however. If attacked, the Kangaroo can punch or kick with both its feet to deal devastating attacks. When slain, they can drop some of their meat, which can be cooked and made into a delicious Kangaroo Burger. They also can drop some of their hide, which can be crafted into Leather, or a unique Banner Pattern. Kangaroo are tameable with ten to fifteen Carrots. When tamed, one can command them to stay, follow or wander by interacting with them, and access the Kangaroo's pouch inventory by sneaking. If there is a melee weapon placed in the pouch, the Kangaroo will use this whenever it attacks. Adult Kangaroo can also equip any helmet or chestplate placed in their pouch, and can eat any non-meat foods placed in their pouch when injured to regain health. Kangaroos can be bred with a Dead Bush or some Grass." |
