Gorillas are neutral mobs that can be found in Jungle biomes.
Behavior[]
Gorillas will spawn in groups, each group is led by a Silverback Gorilla.
Silverback Gorillas may occasionally pound their chest.
Gorillas will fight back if the player attacks one and will attack by punching the target with their strong fists. Silverback Gorillas can deal more damage than standard ones.
Baby Gorillas may ride on the back of an adult.
Feeding on Leaves[]
Gorillas can often be seen tearing the Leaves off of Jungle Trees so that they can eat them.
Taming[]
Gorillas can be tamed by feeding them Bananas.
Tamed Gorillas can be set to two modes:
- Stay: Makes the Gorilla stay in place.
- Wander: Makes the Gorilla walk around aimlessly.
If its owner is attacked or if its owner attacks something then the Gorilla will aid its owner in a fight.
Breeding[]
A tamed normal Gorilla and a tamed Silverback Gorilla can both be bred together with Bananas.
Feeding a tamed normal Gorilla and a tamed Silverback Gorilla some Bananas causes them to enter love mode and eventually the normal Gorilla will spawn a baby Gorilla.

Trivia[]
- Gorillas have three Name Tag Secrets which are the following:
- If a Gorilla is named "Harambe" then it will gain a Halo above its head in reference to the real-life deceased Gorilla of the same name.
- If a Gorilla is named "DK" or "Donkey Kong" then it will change its texture in reference to the famous video game character of the same name.
- If a Gorilla is named "Funky Kong" then it will change its texture in reference to the famous video game character of the same name.
- For some reason, naming a Gorilla "FK" doesn't also change the texture to "Funky Kong".
- Inaccurately, Silverback Gorillas are half a head taller than players, especially when they stand up. In real life humans are usually taller than Silverback Gorillas.

| "The Gorilla is a massive ape found in groups in Jungles. Gorillas are peaceful protectors of the Jungle, but that doesn't make them defenseless. Gorillas can deal massive damage if provoked. Each group of Gorillas has one leader, the Silverback who commands his troop through the Jungle.
