Flutters are passive mobs that can be found in Lush Cave biomes.
Behavior[]
Flutters will usually be seen walking around or flapping their petals to fly around.
Taming[]
Flutters can be tamed using any kind of Flower (including Acacia Blossoms), however Flutters will only eat a single type of Flower once, so it is advised to pack a wide variety.
Tamed Flutters can be set to three modes:
- Follow: Makes the Flutter follow its owner.
- Stay: Makes the Flutter stay in place.
- Wander: Makes the Flutter walk around aimlessly.
If its owner is attacked or if its owner attacks something, the Flutter will aid its owner in a fight by flying out of harm's way and firing pollen balls at the threat. These pollen balls will also home-in on their opponent.
Tamed Flutters can be healed with Flowers.
Potted Flutters[]
If a Flower Pot is used on a Flutter then it will wear it to gain some additional armor points.
Flutters wearing a Flower Pot can be picked up by their owners by sneak right-clicking to obtain a Potted Flutter. When the item is used on a block it spawns the Flower Pot wearing Flutter inside.
Flower Pots can be removed with Shears.
Breeding[]
Flutters can be bred with Bone Meal.
Feeding two Flutters some Bone Meal causes them to enter love mode and eventually one of the Flutters will spawn a baby Flutter.
If the Flutters have bred near some regular Azalea then the Azalea will blossom.

| "Flutters are small, plantoid creatures found in the Lush Caves biome. They are completely passive, and avoid most harm by floating up in the air by flapping their giant flower. Flutters have a curious interest in any Flower, and can be tamed by giving them 4-6 Flowers. Each of these Flowers must be different from each other, as otherwise the Flutter will be disinterested. When tamed, Flutters can be made to stay, follow or wander. When defending their owner from any threat, the Flutter will float into the sky and shoot pollen balls down at the attacker. These pollen balls can home-in on the attacker, making several Flutters very useful to cave explorers. Although they have low health, Flutters can be equipped with a Flower Pot to give them additional armor. A Flutter in a pot can also be picked up by sneaking. Flutters can be healed with Flowers. Since Flutters are plants, they can be bred with Bone Meal. When breeding Flutters near Azalea Bushes or Leaves, there is a chance for the Azalea Bushes or Leaves to bloom. If slain, Flutters can drop a Spore Blossom." |
