Enderiophages are defensive mobs that spawn in End Midlands.
Enderiophages can also spawn if the Ender Flu effect wears off on an entity.
Enderiophages can also be built.
Behavior[]
Enderiophages are defensive and will only attack if they are closely approached, the player attacks them from afar, or the target is already infected by Ender Flu.
Enderiophages are capable of flying by shooting out DNA particles which can propel them forwards.
Building Enderiophages[]
Enderiophages can be built by placing an End Rod with a Capsid containing an Eye of Ender at the top.
Keep in mind that constructed Enderiophages will still attack if closely approached.
If an Enderiophage is built in The Overworld or The Nether it will take on a variant exclusive to that dimension. This can also happen if spawned by the Ender Flu wearing off.
Infecting Mobs[]
Enderiophages will attack the target by landing in front of it then using its mouth to probe its target which can infect it with Ender Flu, afterwards the Enderiophage will lose its Eye of Ender which makes it unable to attack. Enderiophages will inflict a stronger Ender Flu effect if the target is already infected by Ender Flu, caps out at level 5.
Enderiophages will naturally target Endergrades but any other mob has to be close to an Enderiophage or already be infected by Ender Flu to trigger it.
Enderiophages can regain their Eye of Ender by attacking an Enderman which will inflict the Enderman with Blindness while the Enderiophage sneaks away with its new eye.

- The advancement earned: Capsid 19, from obtaining a capsid, is a reference to the real-life sickness. COVID-19, also known as Coronavirus.
- Despite Enderiophages being neutral, they are still attacked by Iron Golems and Snow Golems.

"The Enderiophage is a monstrous biochemical automaton uncommonly found in the End Midlands. This unnatural creature seems to have been created with one purpose in mind - eliminating the End's native Endergrades. However, due to their sparse population, it is unlikely their creators were successful in their Endeavor. The Enderiophage's attack depends on it inflicting an effect known as the Ender Flu on its prey. Although it lasts ten minutes, by the time the effect passes the host will erupt with new smaller phages, and promptly die from the massive damage. This effect can be removed by consuming Chorus Fruit or Milk. Other inflicted creatures can also be given the fruit to be healed. The Enderiophage, although neutral to most, is also hostile towards Endermen. After inflicting its prey with Ender Flu, the Eye of Ender inside the phage will shatter, leaving them to seek out the sight of an Endermen to restore this ability, it will latch onto an Endermen and afflict it with Blindness, while it tries to sneak off with its eye regained. An Enderiophage is unable to attack without an eye. On destruction, the Enderiophage can drop a unique block called the Capsid. This Capsid can hold up to an entire stack of items inside of it, and when another Capsid or inventory is placed above it, the item will float up. In this manner, the Capsid can be used to transport items upwards. The Capsid can also be crafted with Iron Nuggets and End Stone in order to create an Enderiophage Rocket while flying with the Elytra. If an Eye of Ender is placed on a Capsid above a vertical End Rod, it will transform into an Enderiophage! Enderiophage appear to be made out of materials common to their present dimension. Perhaps that is how these being came to be..." |
