Cockroaches are passive mobs that can be found in Caves, but can also spawn if a Cockroach Ootheca is thrown.
Behavior[]
Cockroaches are often seen scurrying around. They tend to reside in areas with a light level lower than 7, and will always avoid areas with higher light levels.
Cockroaches will consume any dropped food item.
Cockroaches are prey for Cave Centipedes.
Cockroaches will usually run away from any players. To counter this, a Cockroach can be fed Bread or Sugar to make them more comfortable.
If a Cockroach reaches 1 health, it will lose its head. Cockroaches without a head still function as normal, however.
Dancing[]
Cockroaches will dance when near any Jukebox that is playing music.
Cockroaches will follow Maracas. If Cockroaches are given a Maraca, they will immediately begin dancing to a song called La Cucaracha. While dancing they will use the Maracas and wear a Sombrero, if they are killed while dancing, Cockroaches can drop the Maracas and a Sombrero they were using.
Cockroaches that are nearby another Cockroach playing Maracas will start dancing alongside them.
Breeding[]
Cockroaches can be bred with Sugar.
Feeding two Cockroaches some Sugar causes them to enter love mode and eventually one of the Cockroaches will spawn a baby Cockroach.

- Their dancing is a reference to the Dancing Cockroach Meme.
- Whenever Cockroaches dance, the song La Cucaracha, a popular kids' song about Cockroaches, will play. Unlike the original La Cucaracha song, this one is much faster, more remixed, and more overhauled than the original.
- If a Cockroach is around a Jukebox when a Music Disc is inserted, it will start dancing the same way it would like the dancing Cockroach meme.
