Capuchin Monkeys are neutral mobs that can be found in Jungle biomes.
Behavior[]
Capuchin Monkeys will spawn in troops.
Capuchin Monkeys will fight back if the player attacks one and will attack by throwing Cobblestone at their target.
If an untamed Capuchin Monkey is fed Bananas, there is a chance for the Capuchin Monkey to drop a Banana Peel.
Taming[]
Capuchin Monkeys can be tamed by feeding them Bananas.
Tamed Capuchin Monkeys can be set to three modes:
- Follow: Makes the Capuchin Monkey follow its owner.
- Stay: Makes the Capuchin Monkey stay in place.
- Wander: Makes the Capuchin Monkey walk around aimlessly.
If it's owner is attacked or if it's owner attacks something then the Capuchin Monkey will aid its owner in a fight by throwing Cobblestones at the offending entity.
Shift right-clicking on a tamed Capuchin Monkey will cause it to ride on its owner's shoulder. Tamed Capuchin Monkeys on a shoulder are capable of attacking from it by throwing Cobblestones. The Capuchin Monkey can be removed from the shoulder by crouching.
Tamed Capuchin Monkeys can be given an Ancient Dart to upgrade their attack damage and add a piercing ability to their attacks.
Tamed Capuchin Monkeys can be healed with Eggs by dropping them on the ground at the monkey's feet.
Breeding[]
Capuchin Monkeys can be bred with Maggots.
Feeding two Capuchin Monkeys some Maggots causes them to enter love mode and eventually one of the Capuchin Monkeys will spawn a baby Capuchin Monkey.

| "Capuchin Monkeys are small primates native to Jungles. They can come in many colors, depending on their group. Like other primates, they have a fondness for Bananas, which can be fed to them to tame them. Tamed Capuchins are more sophisticated than other tamed creatures, like Wolves, being able to follow, stay and wander, along with being able to use both ranged and melee attacks. They can also be made to ride their owner's shoulder, which they can also attack from, throwing stones at targets. Capuchins can be fed a variety of other items. Feeding them Eggs can be used to heal them, and they can be bred with Maggots, one of their favorite foods. Occasionally, they can drop a Banana Peel when eating a Banana. These Banana Peels can be used to create a unique dish dubbed "Sopa De Macaco", which chefs describe as "Uma Delicia". Rarely, an artifact known as an Ancient Dart can be found in Chests in Jungle Temples. Giving these darts to Capuchin Monkeys gives them an upgraded ranged attack with piercing." |
