Caimans are neutral mobs that can be found in Mangrove Swamp biomes.
Behavior[]
Caimans will fight back if the player attacks one.
Caimans will attack by biting the target with their jaws.
Caimans are semi-aquatic and can survive in both land and Water.
Caimans will also breach the Water's surface and start vibrating.
Taming[]
Caimans can be tamed by being near Caiman Eggs as soon as they hatch, the baby Caimans will then imprint on their nearest entity which will mean that it will never attack the imprinted entity along with being tamed to them.
Tamed Caimans can be set to three modes:
- Follow: Makes the Caiman follow its owner.
- Stay: Makes the Caiman stay in place.
- Wander: Makes the Caiman walk around aimlessly.
If its owner is attacked or if its owner attacks something then the Caiman will aid its owner by grabbing the offending entity in its jaws, making the entity move slower which gives time for their owner to escape or to easily kill the entity.
Breeding[]
Caimans can be bred with Raw Catfish.
Feeding two Caimans some Raw Catfish causes them to enter love mode and eventually one of the Caimans will lay some Caiman Eggs.
Sounds[]

Trivia[]
- Most people were actually surprised that the Caiman made it into the mod mainly because they share a lot of similarities with Crocodiles, however, the reasoning behind this was most likely to add a similar contrast to real-world alligators and crocodiles in the game; apparent by differences in their size and the shape of their jaws and tail.
- Despite being similar to the Crocodile, Caimans are still attacked by them, mainly for food or other reasons such as competition.

Animal Dictionary Entry |
---|
"Caimans are small, neutral crocodilians found in Mangrove Swamps. They hunt for fish and other small animals that they can grab between their strong jaws. Occasionally, Caimans can be seen vibrating rapidly at the water's surface and making a large splash. This is how Caimans communicate dominance with members of their own species. Being fish-eaters, Caimans can be bred with Catfish, and will attempt to lay their eggs on the ground nearby. If these eggs hatch around anyone, the hatchlings will view them as their parent and be tamed to them. Tamed Caimans are loyal and will defend their owners by grabbing their targets and holding them still. This ability allows their owner to run away from their attacker, or simply use the limited movement of the target to their advantage." |
