(Not to be confused with Blobfish (item))
Blobfish are passive mobs that spawn underwater below y-level 25 in Ocean biomes.
Behavior[]
Blobfish can only live in Water and will slowly die if on land for too long unless a Slimeball is used on one to make it survive on land indefinitely.
If a Blobfish is under less than 10 blocks of Water, it will turn into a depressurized pink variant.
Blobfish can be collected with a Water Bucket to obtain a Bucket of Blobfish. Blobfish placed in a bucket do not despawn naturally. When the bucket is used on a block it places Water along with the Blobfish swimming next to it.

"Blobfish are gelatinous fish found within the deepest oceans. Although naturally grey and compressed, the Blobfish becomes a pink pile of sludge if under less than 10 blocks of water pressure. When slain, four Blobfish and a Bottle can be used to craft Fish Oil, which when doused, can allow limited levitation in Water or Rain. They can also be bucketed like any other fish. Interacting with a Blobfish with a Slimeball can allow it to survive on land, usually for display purposes, since the creature is quite the curiosity." |
