Alex's Mobs is a Forge/NeoForge Minecraft Mod that was released on December 7th 2020. It was created by sbom_xela.
Mod's Purpose
Alex's Mobs is a mod designed for the addition of new Mobs into the game. All of these mobs have been given uses so that they aren't a pointless addition. Most mobs added are real-life animals, although it does also add some fictional mobs. The mod uses a Configuration system to enable certain customization options, including the changing of spawn biomes. To teach the player how these mobs work, the mod adds a new item called the Animal Dictionary which is a book containing guides for all of the mod's mobs. The mod is also meant to play well with other mods, to the point where some mods have in-built compatibility, see Mod Compatibility for an unofficial list of these mods.
Mod's Community
A lot of fans take this mod as a vanilla-themed Minecraft Mod, making it feel like it's actually part of the game without any disappointments or overwhelming features.
The mod currently has two ways of interacting with the mod's community:
- The Alex's Mobs Github is used for reporting bugs with the mod.
- The Alex's Mobs Discord Server is where news and updates about the mod are posted along with the methods of interacting with the community

Download
To install Alex's Mobs, Forge or NeoForge, and Citadel must be downloaded first. Forge can be downloaded here and NeoForge can be downloaded here. Once Forge or NeoForge have been installed, Citadel can be downloaded here and Alex's Mobs can be downloaded here. Both Citadel and Alex's Mobs must then be moved to the mods folder in the Minecraft directory. If a mods folder does not exist, the user can simply create one.
Alex's Mobs is only available for Minecraft: Java Edition on Windows, Mac, and Linux, for Minecraft versions 1.16.4 to 1.20.1. Alex's Mobs cannot be installed to any other version of Minecraft: Java Edition or any other edition of Minecraft. Alex's Mobs can also only be installed with Forge; it cannot be installed with Fabric or any other similar mod loader.
Note: All addons of Alex's Mobs ported to Bedrock Edition are fake. It is never recommended to download them since they do not have everything from the real Alex's Mobs mod.
